"Mangshi Mode” for Winter Agriculture in Yunnan

                                                                           (provincial winter agriculture spot conference)

At the winter agriculture spot conference held a few days ago in Mangshi, Mr. Kong, the vice governor of Yunnan province, commended the rapid growth of winter agriculture in Mangshi city. During discussion, the governor of Mangshi, Mr. Sha, gave a presentation of “Mangshi Mode” in enhancing the benefit and expand the scale of winter agriculture.

For benefit enhancement, Mangshi makes outstanding achievements in optimizing cropping system. The flatland and part of the low mountain terrain with favorable climate condition are utilized as the field for cropping system improvement. Through scientific use of the farm land and arrangement of crops rotation schedule, Mangshi successfully transforms its cropping system from two crops in one year to three crops. The per mu output value makes a giant leap and surpasses 7,000 RMB.

For scale expansion, Mangshi follow the guideline of establishing planting base and quality business while utilizing convenient transportation to offer good supply. The winter agriculture in Mangshi carried out its production in accordance with the fluctuation of market demand and price. Farmland is tilled for winter crops that suite the soil conditions. With these measures, Mangshi realizes regionalization, expansion and industrialization of its winter agriculture and improves the aggregate revenue and overall quality of winter agriculture.
