The costumes of Jingpo nationality are mainly classified into five series, symbolizing the five colorful mountain flowers blooming in Jingpo mountainous region of the subtropical Longchuan. They also imply five silver spoondrifts sparkling in the running Nanwan River.
The costumes of Jingpo people are mainly dominated by red, black and white, with sharp contrast effect. Always, the Jingpo men are dressed in black frocks with cloth buttons down the front, short and loose-bodied trousers, white turbans matching with red tassels, and wide handkerchiefs and swords when they go out. They look handsome and heroic-look in such costumes. While the Jingpo dresses are of some flowery, a Jingpo woman attires include a black collarless coat with narrow and long sleeves, down to the waist and decorated with silver bubbles or silver tags, and a woolen tight skirt with various patterns. In addition, the entire attires contain a red girdle, leg guards, strings of red pearls or silver chaplets, and silver earrings and bracelets, which make their costumes more brilliant, colorful and attractive.(Source: the Publicity Department of Longchuan County Committee)
