The preparation for the 2012 Jingpo Dance and Song Festival ( Munao Zongge Festiva 目脑纵歌节l) officially starts on December 5th. Meanwhile, the set-up of the organizing committee signals that the preparation for this grand occasion enters a key preliminary stage. According to the agenda released at the commencement conference, the 2012 Jingpo Dance and Song Festival will be celebrated between February 2nd and 7th next year at Mangshi, the capital city of Dehong Prefecture.

The 2012 Jingpo Dance and Song Festival will be featured with the theme of “Spreading ethnic culture through the festival and revitalizing the region through culture”. The festival will be organized in acordance with the spirit advocated at the Sixth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee of the CPC. At the same time, it will be regarded as an great opportunity for Dehong Prefecture to promote its ethnic culture and establish itself as an region with cultural influence. With the celebration of the 2012 Jingpo Dnace and Song Festival, more and more people will get a glimpse of this presperous and harmonious autonomous prefecture, which is also a important economic development zone in bordering area.

 The 2012 Jingpo Dance and Song Festival will be ornamented by numerous attractive activities including the Dance Parade which will be attended by more than ten thousand people, the International Miss Jingpo Talent Competetion, the Smart Jingpo Girl which will show the superb brocade-weaving skills of Jingpo females, the Jade Auction held in the Jelwery Town in Mangshi City, the Second Jingpo Cuisine and Wine Banquet at which the most dilicious eight dishese will be awarded, the Green Leaves Feast which will be exemplified by traditional Jingpo foods, as well as the releasing ceremony of the stamp series that are specially designed for the festival.

With the participation of guests from Myammar, India and Thailand and experts and scholars of ethnic cultures as well as domestic and foreign media, the 2012 Jingpo Dance and Song Festival will achieve a unprecedented scale.
