China National Petroleum Corporation announces on May 19 that China-Myanmar crude oil pipeline officially enters China through Ruili in Yunnan province at 16:00 that day.
This batch of crude oil will be pushed forward by 50km every day. It will finally reach Yunnan Pertrochemical Corporation in An’ning after a 650-kilometer journey.
As the leading project of China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline initiated by the Belt and Road Innitiative, China-Mymmar crude oil pipeline project was put into operation officially in April this year, covering a distance of 1420 kilometers. It will bring considerable economic and social interests for Mymmar and effectively boost the economic development in southwest China.
According to report, when completed, the project will be operated in the international "segment management" model. The Mymmar section will be in the charge of a China-Mymmar joint venture company while the China section will be operated by the China Petroleum Southwest Pipeline Company.
Petro China said that after Mymmar crude oil entering into China, it would be processed and sold in nearby places. As the project supporting China-Mymmar oil and gas pipeline, Yunnan Pertrochemical Corporation will also be put into operation recently. With a designed annual processing capacity of 13 million tons, the supply market includes Yunnan, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou and Guangxi. The project plays a crucial role in ensuring refined oil and chemical products supply for China's southwest region.
Since the construction of China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline, China National Petroleum has always adhered to carrying out social welfare projects along the pipeline to provide employment opportunities for the local regions.
