On the morning of June 10, about 600 overseas Chinese entrepreneurs from 42 countries and regions get together in Kunming to attend the opening ceremony of the 15th ASEAN Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference. Among those who attend the ceremony are leaders from Dehong Overseas Chinese Federation and Office, China Merchants Group, General Office of Ruili Pilot Zone and Ruili Overseas Chinese Federation and Office.
The ASEAN Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference and the 2017 Commerce and Investment Fair are held in the same period, and they regard “integrating the Belt and Road Initiative and enhancing creative development” as the theme to attract guests, so as to highlight the huge development potential of China's southwest region.
Several events follow the opening ceremony, including the 2017 China-ASEAN Entrepreneurship Forum, the negotiation on investment attracting projects for Southwest 6 provinces and cities and the special conference targeted to promote Myanmar. Dehong has organized more than 300 projects to attract investment in the ASEAN Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference, including the ecological pastoral city project in Mangshi, the food processing project of the food industrial park in Mangshi , the fine picking and processing project of lemon in Ruili, construction of car logistics park in Yingjiang, the anti-season vegetable planting base project in mountainous area of Lengliang in Lianghe County, the projects of special travel towns of Nangsong and Jiubao. During the period, Ruili municipal government signs a contract with the EAS Logistics Limited Company.
The on-site investment attracting activity
To promote industries in Dehong, Dehong has made many propaganda materials in various forms focusing on local enterprises, brands and products while embracing local features, key and competitive industries, so as to present Dehong and the recommended investment projects to merchants on site in a more detailed and direct way.

The ASEAN Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference was held in 2003 for the first time. It has been successfully held for 14 times in Kunming. More than 3000 enterprises in six Southwest provinces (cities and regions) participated in the 30-odd project conferences that have been held. Over 5200 Chinese merchants from more than 40 countries and regions have talked over with enterprises from many provinces. Over 100 investment project contracts and agreements have been made, with the actual investment reaching over 5 billion dollars, attracting a batch of top 500 overseas Chinese enterprises.
