From May 10 to May 13, representatives from Dehong Teachers’ College attended Chinese Higher Education Expo 2018 in India. It was the first time that the college had attended higher education expo in South Asia, filling the gap of exchange and cooperation in this area and marking that the college had expanded its research on Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar relationship to India.
Chinese Higher Education Expo 2018 was hosted by by Chinese Consulate Kolkata, in which representatives from sixty colleges and institutions from 11 provinces and cities attended.
The expo offered an access to Indians to learn more about China and current situation of Chinese Higher Education. Meanwhile, it would attract Indian students to study in China. It was of great significance in promoting the in-depth development of China- India culture exchange and bilateral ties.
The opening ceremony kicked off at Biswa Bangla Convention Centreat 9:00 on the morning of May 10. Local government officials, teachers and students from colleges, representatives from enterprises, leaders of research institutions and reporters, making up a gathering of over 1000, were present at the inauguration.

In order to promote Dehong Teachers’ College, expand its international influence, attract more excellent Indian students and establish friendly relationship with the local colleges, several departments of the college such as Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center, Department of Foreign Languages and Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Research Center had made careful preparation. In the two-day exposition, through brochures and videos, the teachers presented Dehong Teachers’ College and Dehong to the attending students and teachers.

The exposition greatly promoted Dehong Teachers’ College and spread its international influence. The teachers presented programs for enrolling overseas students and reached agreement to cooperate with several colleges. To respond to the country’s The Belt and Road Initiative and make contribution for Sino-Indian relationship, the College is to spare no efforts in carrying out the agreed cooperation programs and encourage teachers and students to go abroad.
