Since its opening on April 9, 2019, Menghuan Silver Pagoda in Mangshi, has become an Internet-famous scenic spot.
Mangshi Culture and Tourism Group took charge of the project. With an estimated investment of 170 million yuan, the Silver Pagoda covers an area of 120 mus ( 8 hectares). Work on the pagoda started in 2010 and ended in April 2019. It was put into operation and opened to visitors on April 9 to mark the annual Water-splashing Festival.
With a height of sixty-six meters and a diameter of forty-six meters, the Silver Pagoda is smaller in size than Golden Pagoda, which lies on the opposite. However, as the peak of Silver Pagoda is twenty meters higher than that of its counterpart, the two towers enjoy a visually equivalent height. With white as its base color, the pagoda contrasts starkly with Golden Pagoda. Standing on the top of Leiya Mountain and lakeside of Kongquehu Lake, the two pagodas add radiance and beauty to each other, decorating the fresh water, splendid mountain and blue sky of Mangshi. In numerous nights, they illuminate the way home for residents, shining as the “brightest stars in the sky”.
