In order to provide convenience for local people and accelerate the growth of tourism, China Eastern Airlines opens two new direct flight routes from Mangshi Airport to Shanghai Hongqiao and Beijing International Airport. With the launch of these two direct flights, tourists from Dehong can fly to Beijing, the capital city of China, and to Shanghai, the charming metropolis in eastern region in an inexpensive and easy way.
Starting from October 30th, Dehong tourists can fly directly form Mangshi to Beijing and Shanghai.These two new flight routes will be carried out by the Yunnan Division of Eastern Air. Currently, there are altogether four airlines opened by Eastern Air in Mangshi Airport.
The flight from Mangshi to Beijing, with the filght number MU571, is scheduled to take off at 19:10 at Mangshi Airport and arriv at Beijing International Airport by 00:15 next morning. The return flight MU5702 takes off at 12:00 from Beijing and arrives at Mangshi at 17:00.
The schedule of MU5811 flight from Mangshi to Shanghai is departure at 10:30 from Mangshi and arrival at 15:00 at Shanghai. The return flight MU5818 leavesShanghai Airport at 16：00 and land in Mangshi at 21:00.
Both two flight routes are carried out in daily frequency. The plane to be deployed in these two new flight is Boeing 737 and the total fee for one-way flight is 2800 yuan with the airport construction fee and fuel tax excluded..

In 2009,the Mangshi Airport was reconstructed and expanded as an 4C level airport. It serves as the only “sky portal” in Dehong Auntonomous Prefecture and an important logistic center for Ruili Economic Pilot Zone. Two years later, flight destinations from Mangshi Aiport covers a broad range including domestic cities like Kunming, Guangzhou, Beijing anf Shanghai as well as foreign cities including Mandalay in Maymmar. Mangshi Airport plays an inportant role in deepening the opening up of Dehong’s economy and forming a “aerial corridor” in the southeatern area.
By 2015, Mangshi Airport is planned to be levelled up to International Airport and its handling capacity will reach up to 1.1million passegers,12,221 flights and 8,800 tons of cargos. Furthermore, three international direct flights will be opened within 2015. From 2015 to 2020, the flight to Xiamen, Chengdu, Guiyang and Xinjiang wil be restored and new flights to more cities in Myammar and India are listed in the future plan of Dehong Airport.
