New Journey: Southern Silk Round of China

In February 5th, a new tourist product, the Journey along Sourthern Silk Road, yielded collectively by Dehong Prefectural Bureau of Tourism and Chengdu Association of Tourism, made its first pulic appearance in the Dehong’s Voice Park in Mangshi City. At the publication ceremony, Dehong Bureau of Tourism and Chengdu Association of Tourism made an joint- annauncement on their cooperation of this tourist product along China”s Southern Silk Road.

 

Representatives from both sides attended the ceremony.Li Lei, the secretary of the prefectural party committee annauced the commencement of launching this new tourist project, the Journey along the Southern Silk Road.

Chen Dejing, the vice governor of Dehong Prefecture addressed at the commencement ceremony and delivered his gratitude to local people for their constant support of this new tourist project. He also mentioned the increasing cooperation and commuication between Yunan and Sichuan in terms of both tourism and trading. Especially with the stimulative impact of the direct flight route from Mangshi to Chengdu, the two cities conduct an vibrant interaction and frequent communication in tourism industry.He believed that with the help from Chengdu in experience and expertise of tourism development, Dehong Prefecture would make greater achievements in constructing the Golden Port in bordering areas. The cooperation between Dehong and Chengdu could usher the two cities into a more and more energetic future.

The Southern Silk Road is also known as the Shushendu Route, which starts from Chengdu in Sichuan Province. Cities in Yunnan Province including Zhaotong, Dali and Baoshan all lie along this route. The Southern Silk Road streches into the territory of Myanmar through the bordering region in Dehong, and finally reaches India and Eastern Asia, This road extends for about 2,000 kilometers and is one of the most important and oldest trading route of China to the outside wolrd in ancient times. Back in West Han Dynasty, the Sourthern Silk Road had served as an busy trading path. Just as the Northwestern Silk Road made itself an glorious imprint in the world history, the Souther Silk Road also becomes an invaluable treasure of which the impact would remian eternally in the development of global civilization.
